If you’re tired of temporary fixes like shaving, waxing, or threading, electrolysis may be the long-term solution you’ve been searching for. It’s the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal, and it’s safe and effective for all skin tones and hair types—including for clients with hormonal imbalances such as PCOS, thyroid disorders, or menopause-related hair growth.
How Does Electrolysis Work?

Electrolysis uses a tiny probe inserted into each hair follicle to deliver a small amount of electrical current. This destroys the hair growth cells, preventing future growth. Unlike laser treatments, electrolysis is effective on blonde, grey, red, and fine hairs, too.
What to Expect
Each session targets individual hairs, so multiple treatments are needed for best results. The number of sessions depends on the area being treated, your hair growth cycle, and your personal goals. Most people find the treatment well-tolerated, with minimal downtime.

What Technology Do We Use?
At our studio, we use two of the industry’s most trusted electrolysis machines: the Evolution 7 and the Apilus.
Evolution 7

A reliable, versatile machine that offers effective results across all electrolysis modalities. It’s known for consistent performance and is especially useful for larger areas or clients who prefer a more traditional approach.
Apilus
One of the most advanced machines on the market, Apilus is designed for maximum comfort and precision. It delivers fast treatments with minimal discomfort, making it ideal for sensitive areas such as the face or bikini line.

Electrolysis Methods We Offer?
We customize your treatment using one of three scientifically proven methods:
- Blend combines both thermolysis and galvanic methods for a powerful, highly effective treatment, especially useful for difficult or stubborn hairs.
- Thermolysis (Shortwave)uses high-frequency current to generate heat and destroy the hair follicle. It’s fast and best for treating fine to medium hair.
- Galvanic uses a chemical reaction to break down the hair follicle. It’s slower but very effective for coarse or resistant hair.
Contraindications (When Electrolysis May Not Be Suitable)
While electrolysis is safe for most people, there are certain conditions where it may not be recommended, including:
- Active skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area
- Certain types of skin conditions (e.g. eczema, psoriasis, keloids)
- Use of Accutane (isotretinoin) in the last 6–12 months
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- Pregnancy (electrolysis is not typically performed on the abdominal or breast area during pregnancy)
- Presence of metal implants or pacemakers (for galvanic method only)
- Recent chemical peels or laser resurfacing in the treatment area
What Will I Feel During the Treatment?
Most clients describe electrolysis as a mild to moderate stinging or tingling sensation. It can feel like a quick zap or pinch. The level of discomfort varies depending on:
- The area being treated
- Your personal pain threshold
- The type of machine and method used
- For sensitive areas, a topical numbing cream can be applied before treatment.
What Will My Skin Look Like After Electrolysis?
Immediately after treatment, it’s normal to experience:
- Redness and slight swelling
- A warm or “sunburned” feeling in the treated area
- Occasionally, small pinpoint scabs may form (a normal part of healing)
These effects are usually temporary and subside within a few hours to a few days, depending on skin sensitivity.
How to Prepare for Your Electrolysis Appointment
- Do not shave, pluck, or wax the treatment area. Hair should be grown out to at least 3–5 mm.
- We recommend gentle exfoliation before your session. This helps remove dead skin cells and allows the electric current to work more efficiently.
- Stay well-hydrated in the 24 hours leading up to your appointment. Proper hydration can make the treatment more comfortable and effective.
- For women, it’s best to schedule your session after your menstrual cycle. Pain sensitivity can be higher during or just before your period, making the procedure less comfortable.
Post-Treatment Care & Healing Time
Proper aftercare is key to preventing irritation or infection and ensuring great results:
For the first 24–48 hours:
- Avoid touching or scratching the treated area
- Do not apply makeup, heavy creams, or scented products
- Avoid direct sun exposure and always apply mineral broad-spectrum sunscreen if going outdoors
- Do not exercise, sweat heavily, swim, or use saunas/hot tubs
- Cleanse the area gently with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and cool water
Healing Period:
Moisturize with a gentle, healing product (no active ingredients) as recommended
Skin may take 1–3 days to calm down, depending on sensitivity
Small scabs may form—don’t pick them! Let them fall off naturally

Yes, we are proud members. You can verify our active membership anytime at www.saskelectrolysis.com

Why do I have to pay 100% upfront for my appointment?
Yes, we require full prepayment to secure your appointment. This allows us to reserve dedicated time, equipment, and staff just for you.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Absolutely — as long as it’s more than 24 hours in advance, you can reschedule or cancel without penalty. However, last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows are non-refundable.
Why is this policy in place?
Because when an appointment is cancelled at the last minute, we cannot refill the spot — but we still have to cover the cost of rent, equipment, staff wages, and other overhead.
This policy protects our ability to run a high-quality, sustainable business and ensures we can continue to offer excellent care to every client.
